UCL The Bartlett School of Architecture
Architecture Dip/MArch Design Unit Teaching Fellows
 
Part Time : 8.94 hours (0.245 % FTE)
 
The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £35,415 - £38,441 per annum (pro rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
 
The Dip/MArch Architecture degree at UCL the Bartlett School of Architecture is the most distinguished Part 2 course in the UK. Due to the continued success of this programme we are now seeking additional part-time design tutors, who will have responsibility for teaching architectural design to a total of c.16 Dip/MArch students.
 
The Post holder(s) will be required to teach a Dip/MArch Year 4 and Year 5 architectural design module and, where appropriate, associated technical work through the "Unit" system. The post holder(s) will develop a Unit brief that provides a structure by which the module and RIBA/ARB assessment criteria are delivered. The central purpose of this module is to maintain an innovative and distinct academic agenda within both the global context of architectural development and the local context of other units at the Bartlett. These posts are available to candidates with particular expertise and previous teaching experience in architecture and design.
 
Dual applications from established teaching partnerships are preferred, although single applicants will also be considered. We are looking for candidates with a degree and higher degree in architecture and/or architecture-related disciplines, excellent knowledge of architectural design strategies, advanced CAD packages, digital design techniques, architectural technology, and related design and cultural theory. Excellent teaching and communications skills, good inter-personal and organisational skills, experience of teaching architectural design in a higher education context and experience of conducting research and/or advanced practice in an architecture-related discipline are also required.
