Open Design Italia

Open Design Italia is a market-exhibition which focuses on self-produced, small series design and selects creative people through an international competition.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2013 edition. Designers, fashion designers, artists, makers and companies and/or studios can submit their projects online until the 30th of September 2013.
Priority will be given to products, not prototypes, that are developed along short supply chains and that stem from new local business forms among designers, craftsmen and suppliers. We would like to encourage a new perspective on “made in Italy” products that ranges from the craftsmanship to the digital world and from the unique to the serial.

Participate: www.opendesignitalia.net

The deadline for the required material is the 30th of September 2013 at 6 pm (GMT+1)

You can submit products belonging to the following categories (prototypes will not be accepted):

  • Product design: objects, technology, packaging and various products
  • Interior design: furniture, decoration, textiles, lighting
  • Fashion design: clothes, accessories, jewelry, textiles
  • Communication design: graphic design, publishing, web, applets
  • Urban design: public furniture

The Open Design Italia Staff will select the best projects on the basis of:

  • originality and innovation
  • aesthetic and technical functionality
  • employed technologies and sustainability of the production chain
  • the link with the designer’s territory and the synergies with local production companies
  • ability to communicate and present the products
